The chalk board is back!!

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

So I really loved using the chalk board to track my pregnancy. I think it was a fun way to make the long pregnancy go by a little quicker and I know I am going to love comparing the pictures to my next pregnancy.

Well after the pregnancy was over I tried and tried to think of something to do with my new little girl that was similar. I thought of doing the little monthly sticker on the shirt but I wanted something new and different.

Oh and then I had another problem on my hands. I had this huge chalk board sitting in my house that I had no idea what to do with. I debated just throwing it out until..

I GOT A GREAT IDEA!!

Tracking my babies growth, via chalk board!!

My little boy is only 3 years old and I am already forgetting at what age he started doing things. So this is my great idea for tracking it so I won't forget!

YAY! :)

Age: 2 months
Height: 23 inches, 67%
Weight: 10lbs, 18%
Head: 38 cm, 19%
Milestones: Laikynn is smiling BIG now! She is also very alert and loves looking at everything!! She can also hold her head of very well and can sit in her bumbo! She also loves grabbing her toys!
Sleep: She is such a good little sleeper! She sleeps all the way through the night. From about 10pm to 6:30am. Then she wakes up eats and goes straight back to sleep.
Best Moment: Um.. I love every minute of everyday with my sweet baby girl! She is such an awesome baby! And brings me so much happiness!
Worst Moment: I actually don't think Laikynn has had a bad moment yet. She really is a great baby and hasn't had any problems, thank goodness!
Health: She is growing great and is a happy, healthy baby!
Eating: Laikynn eats like a champ! I was so worried because her older brother was the worst at nursing and I ended up having to pump a bottle for him every time. But Laikynn has done great and is still doing great!
Teeth: I thought I saw some coming in but I am pretty sure they went back down (yes, my children teeth way too early!)
Extra comments: She got her ears pierced!! The doctor said as soon as she gets her 2 months shots she could get her ears pierced. So right after she got them we went to get her ears pierced!! Okay, not right after we waited a few hours in between ;) She cried for like 2 seconds and has been fine ever since! I am glad we did it early so that she won't play with them and have them get infected. Plus she looks SO cute with them!!

    1. Umm I just get the chalk from walmart. Its the big thick ones (they are actually my little boys ha!) So they come in lots of fun colors. Then I always take the picture in front of a window so it has a lot of natural light, that might help too!

  8. So cute! I was planning on re-using my chalkboard for my little man too ... but I think I'm going to have to make another one for him because we're going to put ours up in the kitchen area to have for grocery lists, menu items and things like that! :)

  9. Hi McKinli! I ordered a name banner from your Etsy shop in February ("Jensen") and that's how I found your blog. What is your secret to getting your sweet girl to sleep through the night? I'd love to know if you're doing anything in particular. :) And I have a few maternity photos I can share with you where we used the name banner if you want to use them for your Etsy shop. Just let me know where to send them!

    1. Hey! I actually never bought any maternity clothes. I just bought like looser clothing so that I could wear it even after I was pregnant. (I couldn't talk myself into buying a whole new wardrobe for only a few months.) I usually shopped at Bohme, is is like my favorite store.. It might only be in Utah and there website has a few things but not much. I also shopped at buckle a lot! Good luck with your pregnancy and enjoy your new little one!!
